Frequently Asked Questions

  • Salem Trauma Therapy is contracted with Regence BCBS of Oregon and PacificSource Commercial.

As a small business it is not feasible for us to become paneled with more insurance companies due to the financial and administrative burden.

I have partnered with Mentaya to help my clients save money on therapy. If we are not ‘in-network’ with your insurance and you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Use the tool shown on this page to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

  • Individual Therapy, 53-60 minutes: $180

    Clinical Supervision, 60 minutes: $125

  • Currently all services are virtual, through a secure and confidential video platform. During virtual sessions clients must be physically located in Oregon or Washington State, as this is where Heather Chase is licensed.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, review your history, discuss goals and assess your needs. We will go over necessary administrative details, clinic forms, confidentiality and informed consent. You are not required to discuss anything that you’re not comfortable with sharing. After discussing your needs and the types of treatment I can provide, we will decide together about whether or not to continue a therapeutic relationship. If I am not able to assist with your treatment goals I am happy to provide referral options.

  • The length of time in therapy can differ greatly depending on the individual and their treatment goals. While you can end therapy at any time, regular sessions are recommended to understand the problems that you are facing and to make a meaningful impact. If you are interested in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, the treatment is typically conducted in 12 sessions.

  • Your appointment time is specifically held for you, and is a commitment to our work together. If you cancel an appointment with less than a 24 hour notice, or no-show for an appointment, you will be charged a $100 fee.

  • I work with adults ages 18 and above. I do not work with children or adolescents.

If Salem Trauma Therapy is not in-network with your health plan, you may have out-of-network benefits.

Good Faith Estimate

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
